CLT Technical Specifications & Safety

CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) is a modern structural material that combines high mechanical strength, reliable seismic performance, excellent thermal insulation, and certified fire protection. It is one of the safest and most sustainable solutions in contemporary construction.

  • The load-bearing structure is up to 5 times lighter than concrete, significantly reducing seismic loads.
  • The cross-laminated layer arrangement provides high resilience and flexibility.
  • CLT’s structure absorbs and distributes vibrations uniformly, ensuring stability even during strong earthquakes.

Thermal Insulation & Acoustic Performance

  • Thermal conductivity (λ): 0.12 W/(m·K), according to EN ISO 10456.
  • A 10 cm CLT panel has a U-value of approximately 1.6 W/m²K without additional insulation.
  • High acoustic performance noticeably reduces noise in homes and hospitality buildings.

CLT Fire Protection

Fire Protection

  • Certified fire resistance up to REI 90 minutes, depending on wall build-up and panel thickness.
  • In case of fire, a natural char layer forms at ~0.7 mm/min, protecting the inner wood.
  • CLT shows stable and predictable fire behavior, complying with European standards.

Mechanical Properties

  • High load-bearing capacity for vertical and horizontal loads.
  • Capability to create large spans without additional support.
  • Low self-weight (~470 kg/m³) reduces foundation requirements compared to concrete.
  • Excellent geometric precision thanks to industrial CNC prefabrication.

  • Manufacturing with European CE and ETA certifications.
  • EPD (Environmental Product Declaration): each cubic meter of CLT stores roughly 1 ton of CO₂, acting as a natural “carbon store.”
  • Formaldehyde-free adhesives, compliant with EN 301 and EN 15425.
  • Continuous quality control at every production stage ensures reliability and durability.
