A CLT House in Harmony with the Ionian Sea

05 Νοέμ. 2025

A few kilometers outside Parga, in a demanding location with steep slopes, rocky terrain, and panoramic views of the Ionian Sea, CLT Greece completed a two-story load-bearing structure entirely made of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) of high European standards.

This residence marks the first stage of a three-house complex, each designed to harmonize with the landscape and the principles of sustainable and conscious building using natural materials.

Technical Features

  • Construction time: 2 days for the main CLT structure + 1 day for the Glulam (glued laminated timber) roof
  • Building system: fully load-bearing CLT panels by XLAM Dolomiti
  • Precision: CNC cutting and on-site installation with minimal tolerances
  • Structural performance: excellent strength and stability on challenging geological ground
  • Bioclimatic design: high energy efficiency and natural thermal comfort
  • Aesthetics: clean architectural lines, flexible exterior finishes, and visible natural wood surfaces inside

This project highlights the advantages of CLT construction and the potential of Mass Timber architecture in modern Greek building design:

  • Superior seismic performance and durability, even in complex terrains
  • Fast on-site assembly and optimized construction costs
  • High precision prefabrication, minimizing errors and waste
  • Natural aesthetics and a healthy indoor environment
  • 100% natural material, sourced from sustainably managed forests with PEFC and EPD certifications

As the exclusive partners of XLAM Dolomiti in Greece and Cyprus, CLT Greece brings advanced European Mass Timber technology to the Greek market — delivering high-quality wooden houses that combine competitive cost, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
